A Modern Twist to the Christmas Story
When I first read the script of the production, immediately my mind went crazy with the ideas and I was determined to make them come to life.
I’m very proud (up to this day) to share, this project was very well-executed and I could not have done it without a team of supportive crew, working with together with me on this.
It was Christmas story with a modern twist.
The story was set in a fictional 5-star inn called “The Holyday Inn”. The idea was to have guests who were coming to watch the production, get the experience of what they would normally do when visiting a hotel.
Since it’s called the “Holyday Inn”, I thought, why not do a spoof of the actually brand of the real hotel.
Eventually, the team decided to go with a non-fancy ‘H’ brand, with a 5-star rating instead.
With the branding done up, we created an invitation via the means of a hotel bill.
We also gone to the extent of creating souvenir pocket calendar “key access cards”. [Thanks Clara Lim who helped with doing the graphic for the key.]
Development Stages of the Collaterals
Besides these, we even created a Concierge desk built out of recycled material for the stage. What’s amazing was, that very same desk, could actually be flipped around and be “transformed” into a cleaning cupboard. The cupboard was where the modern Mary gave birth.
I’d have to say, this was one projects I had fun working on, from the initial concept to the final output of the entire production.
